: : 8 Months of Marriage : : & My “Love is” Doodle!

I can’t believe that it’s already been 8 months since I married my handsome husband! On one hand, it feels like we’ve been married for decades…and on the other, it feels like we just got back from our honeymoon last week!

I am blessed to have found someone who is my best friend and love of my life. Plus, it’s great to be able to giggle over silly things, hang out on the couch together, rock out to our favorite music, talk about our mutual (and not so mutual) life goals, daydream about our future kids and just have a good time with each other! All the while being completely trusting and comfortable with one another and totally ourselves.

(Don’t get me wrong, not every day has been a walk in the park. We’ve had a few rough days where we’d prefer to be on different planets (different galaxies even)…but those days help us to keep it real and appreciate the good days even that much more.)

Anyway, 8 months ago today, I stood in the sweltering heat, saying my vows to a handsome man and listening to my grandparents read a few bible verses. One of those verses came from 1 Corinthians, Chapter 13. Today, I wanted to not only remember our wedding day but also the message in the verse. Here’s the verse:

1 Corinthians 13

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

And here is my doodle with a few of my favorite parts of the verse….

LOVE IS...

Thanks for looking and stop by again soon!

  1. Carissa, you are right on with your scripture preference. The last verse in 1 Cor. 13 tells us. “Now these three things remain, Faith, Hope, and Love, but the greatest of these is love.” We must have faith is Christ to live a Christian life. Our faith gives us hope of eternal life. But love is the greatest, because it is everlasting. It will extend through our lives here on earth, and right on into eternity in Heaven. Where we will be able to love God and Jesus face to face, as well as all our loved ones who have passed on before us.
